About The Position

In this role, the Network Administrator will be responsible for conducting approved network changes, performing IOS upgrades, and technology upgrades for routing and switching equipment to ensure continued enterprise operations. The position involves drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for network operations, resolving systems failures and accessibility problems, and supporting site surveys, engineering designs, and new/enhanced network implementation projects. This role requires independent work, especially in remote locations, functioning as an independent engineering, maintenance, and network problem solver with minimal input from other Tiers/locations. Problems encountered will be difficult, requiring detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation. The administrator will employ creativity and ingenuity for new technical solutions applicable across the enterprise, drawing heavily on prior experience. Responsibilities also include network ticket resolution and closure, provisioning network devices, researching errors and incidents, performing incident analysis, routing service requests, performing root cause analyses, completing problem resolutions, and reviewing/implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

Requirements

  • IAT II TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain a CI poly
  • Familiarity with both Cisco and Juniper network devices
  • Strong working knowledge of the various routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, VRF, MPLS, 802.1x).
  • In-depth knowledge of KG-175 Series TACLANES configuration process, fault isolation, and firmware upgrade procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco-ISE

Responsibilities

  • Conduct approved network changes to include but not limited to VLan, ACL and port assignment.
  • Perform IOS upgrades to routers and switches.
  • Perform routing and switching equipment technology upgrades to ensure continued operations of the enterprise.
  • Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for network operations.
  • Resolve systems failures and accessibility problems within the network to our services.
  • Support site survey and engineering designs data calls.
  • Support new/enhanced network implementation, installation, and technical refresh projects within a site or locale.
  • Function as independent engineering, maintenance, and network problem solving with minimal or intermittent input from other Tiers/locations in remote locations.
  • Employ creativity and ingenuity for new technical solutions applicable across the enterprise, drawing heavily on prior experience.
  • Perform Network ticket resolution.
  • Support Network ticket closure across Network Operations staff.
  • Use administrative access to the network to provision new switches, routers, and Cryptographic devices.
  • Use administrative access to network components to research errors, incidents, problems and to perform incident analysis and identify potential problems.
  • Route Service Requests to the appropriate organization required for incident resolution.
  • Perform root cause analyses.
  • Complete problem resolutions associated with incident ticket(s).
  • Review and implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
