Netsuite Engineer

OpenLoop Health•Des Moines, IA

About The Position

OpenLoop is seeking a NetSuite Engineer to maximize the value of its existing NetSuite implementation by connecting it to the company’s other systems, building the cost centers and customizations Finance needs, and supporting longer-range forecasting. The role has substantial autonomy and ownership, with a focus on building the financial planning and analysis framework for a fast-growing company. The engineer will develop and maintain NetSuite customizations, workflows, automations, and reporting; own integrations and their data flows; support month-end close and financial accuracy; and partner with FP&A on cost centers, actuals versus forecast, scenario planning, and long-range planning. The role also maintains change management, controls, roles, permissions, and segregation of duties for SOX/ITGC audit requirements. As the business’s technical NetSuite expert, the engineer will translate requirements into scalable designs, manage release upgrades, retire outdated customizations, and identify opportunities to reduce manual finance work with automation or AI.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of hands-on NetSuite development and administration experience.
  • Experience building and supporting NetSuite integrations with Salesforce and HubSpot.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including general ledger, revenue recognition, multi-subsidiary consolidation, and close.
  • Experience with rigorous change management and SOX/ITGC controls, roles, and segregation of duties.

  • Own integrations between NetSuite and systems including Salesforce, HubSpot, payroll/HRIS, billing, procurement, banking, and the data warehouse; design and monitor data flows and handle alerts, retries, and reconciliation.
  • Work with Accounting on the general ledger, revenue recognition, consolidation of multiple subsidiaries, intercompany transactions, and close automation; resolve data and process problems that delay close.
  • Partner with FP&A to structure cost centers, track actuals versus forecast, and support scenario and long-range planning.
  • Apply change-management controls by developing in sandbox, releasing through a documented process, and maintaining roles, permissions, and segregation of duties for SOX/ITGC audit requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable designs, manage NetSuite release upgrades, retire old customizations, and identify automation or AI opportunities to reduce manual finance work.
