About The Position

Antech is seeking a mid-to-senior-level .NET Developer to help modernize its software platforms. The role focuses on designing and building backend services in C# and modern .NET, using microservices, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) to create scalable, maintainable, cloud-native services. The developer will help modernize legacy applications, build reliable services, and contribute to consistent engineering practices. Java experience is optional; experience with specific messaging, orchestration, and cloud platforms is preferred but not mandatory. The position works on-site in Antech’s Loveland office in collaboration with developers, architects, product owners, QA, and DevOps. The developer will participate in pair programming, technical design and architecture planning, code reviews, production troubleshooting, and mentoring teammates. Antech is part of Mars Science & Diagnostics and provides veterinary diagnostics, software, imaging, data services, education, and specialist support. Its culture is guided by the Five Principles: Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom.

  • Strong grounding in object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, design patterns, testability, clean code, and refactoring.
  • Understanding of microservices and service-oriented architecture, including separation of concerns and service boundaries.
  • Familiarity with DDD and event-driven architecture concepts, and ability to apply or learn them in a collaborative setting.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, joins, indexes, constraints, and query optimization.
  • Experience with an ORM such as Entity Framework Core and with automated unit and integration testing.
  • Comfort with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative software delivery.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, surface risks and blockers, collaborate in an Agile team, and share knowledge.
  • Ability to work on-site in the Loveland office.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and support backend services and APIs using C# and modern .NET.
  • Design microservices with cohesive responsibilities, clear service boundaries, maintainable business logic, and independent evolution.
  • Apply DDD concepts, including bounded contexts, aggregates, entities, value objects, domain events, and domain services.
  • Build event-driven integrations supporting asynchronous communication, loose coupling, and resilient processing.
  • Contribute to solutions using Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or comparable messaging systems.
  • Help modernize legacy applications and migrate capabilities into modern .NET services.
  • Apply object-oriented design, SOLID principles, design patterns, clean code, and thoughtful refactoring.
  • Build RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
  • Work with relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server; write and optimize SQL and use ORM tools such as Entity Framework Core.
  • Contribute to containerized and cloud deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure as appropriate.
  • Write unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews, technical design, and architecture planning.
  • Use Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern delivery workflows; troubleshoot production issues and document technical decisions.
