The Application Developer is a key member of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) IT team and contributes to the design, development, and maintenance of software applications. This role is responsible for coding, testing, debugging, and assisting with technical documentation to support application life cycles. Reporting to the Senior Application Developer, this role works closely with senior team members to deliver development initiatives and enhance existing applications. Responsibilities include developing or enhancing applications, providing Tier 2 application support, and assisting with server and system maintenance as needed. This role also contributes to improving IT processes and ensuring that development work is appropriately documented. The Application Developer supports the integrity and security of institutional data by adhering to all VUMC policies, procedures, and best practices. The Graduate Medical Education (GME) team supports over 1,200 house staff across approximately 187 residency and fellowship programs.
