Why you should join our team As the NERC Compliance Manager, you’ll play a direct role in protecting the reliability of the transmission electric system and supporting the standards set by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation- your work truly matters every day. The Compliance Manager interacts with a wide breath of departments and employees giving you a more global understanding of the organization. Compliance is one of the VELCO’s three core tenets and this role will have the attention of senior executives, the CEO and the board of directors. How you will make an impact You will strengthen audit readiness by leading proactive preparation efforts and managing evidence to reduce organizational risk and avoid penalties. By partnering across operations, engineering, and IT teams, you will help drive a culture of compliance that is embedded in everyday workflows—not just during audits. Your ability to identify gaps early through assessments and implement effective mitigation plans will reduce regulatory risk and prevent violations before they occur. You will navigate evolving standards by translating complex regulatory updates into clear, actionable processes that keep the organization ahead of change, while also improving operational efficiency by streamlining compliance processes, documentation, and tools. In addition, you will enhance the organization’s cybersecurity posture by supporting adherence to Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards, safeguarding critical systems and data. Ultimately, you will influence strategic decisions by providing leadership with valuable insights on compliance risk, helping guide investments and operational priorities.
