About The Position

Bassett Healthcare Network, in central New York, is seeking a full-time board-certified Division Chief Nephrologist. This is a leadership role within an established group of 4 Nephrologists and 2 Nurse Practitioners, focusing 100% on Nephrology. The position involves a mix of outpatient clinic and hospital responsibilities at Bassett Medical Center (60%), with regional travel to clinic and dialysis centers (40%). There is potential for Medical Directorship of dialysis units owned and operated by Bassett Healthcare Network. The role offers daily interaction with medical students and residents, with potential for a faculty appointment from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Visa sponsorship is available for J-1 and H-1B candidates.

Requirements

MD, DO or MBBS
Board Certified in Nephrology and Hypertension
New York State Licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
BLS/ACLS/PALS Certification Required
DEA Required

Responsibilities

Lead an established group of 4 Nephrologists and 2 Nurse Practitioners.
Manage a 100% Nephrology practice.
Perform 60% outpatient clinic and hospital responsibilities at Bassett Medical Center.
Undertake 40% regional travel to clinic and dialysis centers.
Potentially serve as Medical Director of dialysis units.
Participate in call typically 9-10 weeks per year.
Manage 30-50 follow-up dialysis patients.
Manage 10-30 follow-up transplant patients.
Interact with medical students and residents.
Engage in leadership activities within the division.
