About The Position

Bassett Healthcare Network, in central New York, is seeking a full-time board-certified Division Chief Nephrologist. This is a leadership position within an established group of 4 Nephrologists and 2 Nurse Practitioners, focusing 100% on Nephrology. The role involves 60% outpatient clinic and hospital responsibilities at Bassett Medical Center, and 40% regional travel to clinic and dialysis centers. There is potential for a Medical Directorship of dialysis units owned and operated by Bassett Healthcare Network. The position offers daily interaction with medical students and residents, with potential for a faculty appointment from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Visa sponsorship is available for J-1 and H-1B candidates.

Requirements

MD, DO or MBBS.
Board Certified in Nephrology and Hypertension.
New York State Licensure (or eligibility to obtain).
BLS/ACLS/PALS Certification Required.
DEA Required.

Responsibilities

Lead an established group of 4 Nephrologists and 2 Nurse Practitioners.
Manage a 100% Nephrology practice.
Perform 60% outpatient clinic and hospital responsibilities at Bassett Medical Center.
Travel regionally 40% of the time to clinic and dialysis centers.
Potentially serve as Medical Director of dialysis units.
Manage call responsibilities, typically 9-10 weeks per year.
Oversee 30-50 follow-up dialysis patients.
Oversee 10-30 follow-up transplant patients.
Interact daily with medical students and residents.
Engage in potential faculty appointment activities with Columbia University.
