About The Position

Bassett Healthcare Network, in central New York, is seeking a full-time BC/BE Division Chief for its Digestive Diseases department. This is an opportunity to join an established group of 5 physicians and 4 advanced practice clinicians within Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive academic health system and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. The network delivers care across an 8-county region. The role involves demonstrating proficiency in standard GI procedures and testing, with an educational focus on teaching and mentoring residents and medical students. Call is no more frequent than 1:4, and an instant referral base is provided with over 300 Network Clinicians. Visa sponsorship is available for J-1 and H-1B candidates.

Requirements

• MD, DO or MBBS
• BC/BE
• Completion of an accredited USA Gastroenterology Fellowship
• New York State licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
• BLS certification required
• DEA required

Nice To Haves

• 5 to 10 years post fellowship highly preferred
• Established clinician with leadership experience
• Experience in program development
• Interest in teaching residents and students

Responsibilities

• Lead the Digestive Diseases department as Division Chief.
• Practice standard GI procedures and testing.
• Teach and mentor residents and medical students.
