About The Position

Valley Children's Specialty Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Neonatologist to join a highly respected, collaborative neonatal team serving one of California's busiest and most diverse perinatal regions. As the only Level IV NICU serving a 12-county region between Los Angeles and San Francisco, Valley Children's is the primary referral center for the most critically ill and medically complex newborns in Central California. Physicians benefit from a high-acuity practice supported by a robust network of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists. This physician will be employed by Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group and practice at Valley Children's Main Campus – Madera, Ca.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship
  • Eligible for California medical licensure
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, patient-centered care
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience caring for complex neonatal patients in a high-acuity setting
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience practicing in a Level III or Level IV NICU environment
  • Exceptional graduating fellows with outstanding training and a demonstrated commitment to neonatal care

Responsibilities

  • Practice in a high-acuity environment with exceptional subspecialty support.
  • Serve as the primary referral center for the most critically ill and medically complex newborns in Central California.
  • Provide care in an 88-bed Level IV NICU.
  • Manage an average daily census of 55 patients.
  • Handle primary referral center for the region’s most complex medical and surgical neonatal cases.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Engage in a collaborative physician culture focused on quality, innovation, and family-centered care.
  • Complete 236 shifts annually.
  • Potentially take on additional shifts for extra compensation.
