About The Position

Medical City Dallas is hiring a PRN Neonatal ICU Registered Nurse to provide care in its 108-bed Level IV NICU. The nurse performs comprehensive assessments and direct patient care, develops and evaluates care plans, supervises non-licensed nursing staff within the RN scope of practice, and incorporates teaching into nursing practice. The position is part of a team focused on compassionate, high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• ADN or BSN is required, with enrollment in a BSN program within 12 months and completion within 24 months (Magnet Hospital).
• Texas State RN license or compact license accepted.
• At least one year of recent Level III or IV NICU RN experience in an acute care hospital.
• STABLE certification must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
• Neonate Resuscitate certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and provide direct patient care.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
• Incorporate teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
