About The Position

The Neighborhood Development Coordinator will assist Build WyCo’s Neighborhood Development work in a broad range of tasks. They will aide Build WyCo’s Director of Neighborhood Development to push forward the Oak Grove Redevelopment plan. They may also perform administrative and some on-site tasks for new construction and renovation project management. This position will also aide Build WyCo’s Community Engagement Manager with a neighborhood survey. This position is also meant to provide broad exposure to community, real estate, neighborhood, and affordable housing development. The assistant will be invited to various meetings solely for the purpose of observation.

Nice To Haves

  • Education in Community Development, City Planning, Public Administration, Architecture, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the community engagement process via workshops, document & presentation creation, hospitality and meeting coordination, marketing, and being present.
  • Review all past neighborhood plans touching the Oak Grove Neighborhood, and all data collecting to date.
  • Work with Oak Grove leadership to schedule workshops and participate in outreach at community events held by others.
  • Coordinate marketing and distribution of invitations to workshops events.
  • Communicate with stakeholders or other invitees for preparation and follow-up of planning activities.
  • Create document of Redevelopment Plan: Includes graphic design, writing, mapping, and info graphics.
  • Maintain a stakeholder contact list.
  • Attend monthly/ bi monthly neighborhood events.
  • Create interactive & engaging materials for workshops.
  • Set up and tear down workshop materials.
  • Welcome attendees and assist with sign-in.
  • Facilitate small group discussions (if appropriate).
  • Conduct resident interviews or surveys.
  • Take notes and photos during meetings.
  • Visit construction sites to observe and support project coordination.
  • Collect and synthesize data, neighborhood input, and information collection into easily understood documents.
  • Coordinate food & beverages for neighborhood workshops.
  • Create power points to update or “report out” progress to neighborhood residents.
  • Visit construction sites to verify progress of work.
  • Various administrative tasks to both start and close out new construction projects.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Neighborhood Development.
