About The Position

The NDT Trainee takes rejected pipes and identifies and corrects defects to produce a product that can be sold. Axis Pipe and Tube LLC is committed to helping partners in the oil and gas industry achieve superior results by supplying premium-quality oil country tubular goods (OCTG) and line pipe products and delivering necessary service. Located in Bryan, Texas, their manufacturing facility can produce over 300,000 tons of electric resistance welded (ERW) OCTG and Line Pipe annually, using the latest technology and manufacturing techniques to ensure product quality and safety standards. The company also prioritizes providing a safe, healthy workplace for its employees and serves partners requiring products according to international standards like API 5L, API 5CT, ASTM.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Three months related experience and/or training.
Must be able to read and understand the Procedures and Work Instructions for the position held.
Able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Follows written and verbal instructions as to what the daily assignments will consist of.
Work areas will vary between. ID grind, Hem Saw, Gag Straightener or stations setup in the yard. Locations will depend on tasks being performed.
Tracking and maintaining pipe traceability.
Make sure that the product is properly identified by managing stencils, labels, and painted bands.
Use and maintain grinder for smoothing and correcting pipe
Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas.
Responsible for completing any assignments given by Supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listed in this job description
