About The Position

Laboratory Testing, a leader in the materials testing industry, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team as a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Trainee. This entry-level role offers hands-on training, mentorship from experienced certified technicians, and a clear path toward professional NDT certification. The position is based in Hatfield, PA.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • No experience required.
  • Ability to obtain a Forklift Operator Certification (required)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents (required)
  • Ability to identify damaged, and/or missing material from orders (required)
  • Ability to pass written and practical examinations after training.
  • Ability to lift, push/pull, carry and/or move material of varying weight and occasionally lift, push/pull, carry and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Must meet citizenship eligibility required by accrediting bodies.
  • Applicants must be a US Person, which is defined as a US National, US Permanent Resident, and certain categories of Asylees and Refugees.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of inspection or manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gains knowledge in NDT methods through hands-on and classroom training experience.
  • Assists qualified technicians by providing support where needed.
  • Prepares for qualification exams in NDT methods by self-studying books and watching/assisting with inspections.
  • Delivers materials and other items received to the appropriate areas/departments.
  • Stages customer materials in the designated areas.
  • Compares identifying information of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, or other records are correct.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming deliveries, notifies appropriate personnel of any damaged items, shortages, discrepancies, or inconsistencies.
  • Prepares orders for processing (unpacking, pre-cleaning, staging, etc.).
  • Prepares material for shipping by banding, shrink wrapping, packaging, etc.
  • Assembles and repairs crates, boxes and skids as needed as well as determining the dimensions and weight of the final shipment.
  • Partners with shipping & receiving department to ensure rack system is maintained and to serve as a backup when the material handler out.
  • Maintains an “Open House Appearance” by keeping the Non-Destructive Testing areas clean and free of clutter by following a routine maintenance schedule.
  • Seeks clarification when job specifications, methods, or directions are unclear.
  • Ensures assigned work area(s) are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
