This position involves successfully completing formal and informal Radiation Safety and X-Ray Technician Level I and II Training. The trainee will assist certified radiographers in performing radiographic operations, including selecting appropriate techniques, positioning materials, and exposing film to identify and assess defects in castings and weldments. Responsibilities also include performing darkroom procedures to develop film, learning to interpret film results to determine pass/fail status based on defect seriousness, codes, standards, and customer specifications, and preparing necessary documentation. The role requires moving parts by hand and using lifting equipment for inspection, and learning radiation safety policies and procedures to ensure safety. The trainee will also obtain certifications and may assist in other NDT disciplines as needed.
