About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a NDT Tester Level II - 2nd Shift at our N Charleston, SC facility! Core shift hours for 2nd shift are 3pm - 11pm Monday - Friday. Overtime may extend these hours. The hourly rate for this position is $35.50 plus $2.50 shift differential per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years non destructive testing experience required
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various Non-Destructive Testing, such as Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Fluorescent Magnetic Particle Inspections (MPI), perform visual and dimensional inspections and maintain calibration certifications.
  • Set up and conduct processes involving liquid penetrants and Magnetic Particle Inspections to detect, evaluate, and report on defects such as, porosity, cracks, and other discontinuities. NAS STD 410 and ASTME 1417, ASTM-E-1444 compliance
  • Set up, adjust, and control electronic equipment such as ultraviolet devices to evaluate material contents, bonds, surface and sub-surface flows and discontinuities to the specifications outlined by written procedure or verbal instruction.
  • Apply basic math skills, read and interpret complex blueprints and geometric symbols to identify inspection requirements, and select proper measuring devices.
  • Visually and dimensionally inspect parts for conformance and take appropriate action to call out discrepancies.
  • Perform necessary part marking and operation of the Vapor degreaser
  • Generate and maintain all required logs and records as prescribed by customer or MIL Specs including lab reports, log books, non-conformance reports (NCRs), records, etc.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance.
  • Pre- & post cleaning & preserving of parts as needed.
