NDT Technician (FPI Inspector)
About The Position
Join trak group in partnering with a growing client in Cincinnati, Ohio that’s expanding its Manufacturing team. Trak group is partnering with a manufacturing client seeking an experienced NDT Technician (FPI Inspector) to perform nondestructive testing and quality inspections in accordance with established procedures, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This hands-on quality role is responsible for operating FPI equipment, evaluating hardware, documenting inspection results, and working closely with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams. The ideal candidate has an FPI certification, strong attention to detail, and experience working within a quality-driven manufacturing environment. Aerospace or Repair & Overhaul inspection experience is highly preferred.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; documentation required.
- FPI certification required.
- Ability to meet applicable ITAR U.S. Person requirements, with required documentation.
- Ability to complete required FAA testing.
- Corrected 20/20 vision.
- Computer proficiency with strong keyboarding and data-entry skills.
- Ability to accurately complete inspection documentation and production records.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures, work instructions, travelers, and customer specifications.
Nice To Haves
- Current Level II FPI Certification.
- Previous aerospace inspection experience.
- Experience performing FPI inspections in a Repair & Overhaul environment.
- Additional Nondestructive Testing (NDT) experience.
- X-Ray inspection experience.
- Experience working closely with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve hardware or inspection concerns.
Responsibilities
- Perform Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) operations and inspections according to company procedures, work instructions, travelers, and customer specifications.
- Operate, control, and maintain FPI equipment.
- Inspect hardware for defects, discontinuities, and potential quality concerns.
- Accurately document inspection results and complete required traveler sign-offs.
- Maintain detailed daily production and inspection records.
- Communicate inspection findings and hardware quality concerns to appropriate departments.
- Collaborate with Supervisors, Quality, and Engineering personnel to address inspection issues.
- Follow established quality procedures and inspection requirements.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities to expand inspection and technical capabilities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Support additional inspection activities, special projects, and other assigned responsibilities.
