NDT CR/FPI Technician 4th shift
About The Position
Chromalloy is a global engineering & solutions company and a leading provider of aftermarket parts, repairs, and solutions that safely & reliably extend the life of aircraft engines and gas turbines. We develop, manufacture and repair critical turbine components for a range of engine platforms, supporting the engines running the aerospace, energy and defense industries around the world. We are looking for an NDT CR/FPI Technician to perform non-destructive testing inspections on aerospace and industrial gas turbine components using Computed Radiography (CR) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) methods. This role utilizes specialized inspection equipment, engineering specifications, and quality procedures to identify internal and surface discontinuities while ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements. Your work helps ensure the quality, reliability, and safety of critical aerospace components.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of aerospace, manufacturing, quality inspection, NDT, or related industry experience.
- Ability to clearly communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and understanding technical documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and inspection requirements.
- Experience working with quality systems, inspection documentation, and traceability requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify nonconforming conditions.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and electronic quality systems.
- Ability to accurately record and analyze inspection results.
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable NAS 410 certifications.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Due to government regulation only US persons (U.S. citizen, U.S. naturalized citizen, U.S. permanent resident, holder of U.S. approved political asylee or refugee status) may be considered for this role.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Computed Radiography (CR), Radiographic Testing (RT), Digital Radiography (DR), or Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) experience.
- NAS 410 Level I or II certification.
- Aerospace manufacturing, MRO, casting, or airfoil inspection experience.
- Familiarity with NADCAP requirements and aerospace quality management systems.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform Computed Radiography (CR) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) on aerospace and industrial gas turbine components.
- Set up and operate radiographic and penetrant inspection equipment in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
- Verify equipment calibration, system performance, and inspection parameters prior to inspection activities.
- Inspect components for internal and surface discontinuities, including cracks, porosity, inclusions, seams, and laps.
- Evaluate inspection results against engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and customer acceptance criteria.
- Record, evaluate, and report inspection findings and quality data.
- Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming hardware in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain inspection records, image files, traceability documentation, and quality records.
- Assist in troubleshooting inspection equipment, image quality concerns, and process-related issues.
- Follow established quality procedures, safety requirements, and standard work practices.
