About The Position

This position assists with the planning, coordination, and performance of design, analysis, and liaison engineering supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services. The NDT Engineer - TS I contributes to planning, developing, and coordinating important engineering projects, providing specialized technical assistance to team members. They use advanced techniques and modified extensions of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, determining and developing their own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives. This role works under limited supervision, with work only requiring review for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives. The engineer acts as a liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area. Additionally, they actively work to improve daily processes, ensure all work meets customer requirements, and maintain current knowledge of developments in their field of specialty or other related aircraft fields to recommend innovations. The role also involves performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 5 years in specific technical discipline or 10 years broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.
  • Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 years for Masters, 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
  • Ability to detect subtle defects that could compromise safety.
  • Clearly explain technical findings to cross-functional teams, including production, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, and Peer Engineering Groups.
  • A methodical approach to troubleshooting equipment malfunctions or ambiguous data.
  • This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Writing, reviewing, and maintaining NDT inspection procedures and techniques.
  • Knowledge of NDT Systems, Equipment, and Technology.
  • Work closely with the Quality organization to supplement training of Level I and II technicians.
  • Support Design reviews for reference standards.
  • Define NDT requirements during the engineering design phase to ensure product supportability and affordability.
  • Support M&P MRB team with discrepancies.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for material or mechanical failures identified through testing.
  • Contributes to planning, developing and coordinating of important engineering projects.
  • Provides specialized technical assistance to team members.
  • Uses advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
  • Works under limited supervision; work should only be required to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives.
  • Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area.
  • Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product.
