As an NDT Assistant, you help ensure critical infrastructure—including pipelines, pressure vessels, and structural steel—is safe and reliable. You work closely with certified NDT Technicians to inspect materials using methods such as X-ray, ultrasound, and dye testing without damaging the materials. The position is an entry point to a career in non-destructive testing, with opportunities to advance through training and certification to Level II or III NDT Technician, testing specialist, team lead, regional inspector, project manager, or QA/QC roles. Work takes place at job sites such as plants, pipelines, and industrial facilities. It may involve early starts, overnight stays, long-distance travel, extended time on site, and physically demanding work outdoors or in industrial environments. Assistants set up and prepare inspection equipment, support inspections under technician guidance, follow safety procedures, and help document results and clean up after inspections. PROtect supports growth through advancement paths, training and certification support, and travel and relocation opportunities.
