NCHS Football Assistant Coach
About The Position
This is an extracurricular coaching position paying an annual stipend. The Assistant Coach II will assist coaches in various secondary school athletic programs, promoting sports in the school and community. Responsibilities include assisting the head coach in planning the athletic program, organizing and supervising practices, teaching fundamental skills, team strategy, and rules of the game. The role also involves teaching good sportsmanship and self-control, checking participant eligibility (including insurance and parent consent), and serving as a positive role model for students. The assistant coach will conduct learning experiences with small groups of student athletes under the direction of coaches and recommend the purchase of necessary equipment, supplies, and uniforms for the health, safety, and welfare of student athletes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E. D.
- Knowledge of fundamentals of various sports.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to assist coaches on one or more sports.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

- Assist students by providing a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
- Conduct learning experiences, under the direction of the coaches, with small groups of student athletes.
- Recommend the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student athletes.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
