About The Position

The Assistant Football Coach will assist the head coach in promoting sports within the school and community. This role involves helping to plan and organize the athletic program, including practices and game strategies. The coach will also be responsible for teaching fundamental skills, sportsmanship, and ensuring student eligibility and safety. Additionally, the assistant coach will serve as a positive role model and provide guidance to student athletes.

Requirements

Fundamentals of various sports.
Health and safety regulations.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Assist coaches on one or more sports.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Promote sports in the school and community.
Assist the head coach in planning the athletic program.
Assist the head coach in organizing and supervising practices.
Assist the head coach in teaching individual fundamental skills, team plan, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game.
Assist the head coach in teaching good sportsmanship and self control.
Assist in checking eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
Assist students by providing a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
Conducts learning experiences, under the direction of the coaches, with small groups of student athletes.
Recommends the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student athletes.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Adheres to school board policies and administrative procedures.
Adheres to the state Professional Code of Ethics.
Demonstrates punctuality and good attendance for all duties.
