Who We Are Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a qualified professional to serve as a JSAF Advanced Warfare Scenarios (JAWS) Operator Support Team (JOST) member and Subject Matter Expert (SME). This position is based at the Chamberlain Hall Global LVC (GLOC) Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Department and supports the Navy Training Baseline (NTB) and the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE). The ideal candidate will provide expertise on U.S. Navy and Opposing Force (OPFOR) platforms and shipboard weapon systems. The role requires a strong understanding of modeling and simulation functionality to effectively test models, recommend updates, and communicate technical requirements to software developers. This position supports a variety of mission-critical training and exercise events, including Fleet Synthetic Training – Group Commander and Joint (FST-GC/J), Ballistic Missile Defense Exercises (BMDEX), the Naval Undersea Warfare Training Assessment Course (NUWTAC), and Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) training and integration efforts, as well as modeling work for NTB.

Requirements

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Candidate must have experience supporting shipboard installations and increasing levels of management development
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen
  • Candidate must have a current Secret Clearance required.
  • Candidate must have strong technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Candidate must have the ability to read and digest technical information.
  • Candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot technical issues within multiple systems.
  • Candidate must have strong attention to detail.
  • Candidate must have strong customer focus, the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities.
  • Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multiple naval operating systems and networking equipment.
  • CompTIA Security+.
  • RedHat desktop operating systems (RHEL 7/8) experience.
  • Experience with patching Microsoft servers and workstations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative leadership to assigned personnel, having various skills, to exercise full responsibility for all administrative, and coordination functions related to specific program elements to ensure that they meet customer and user requirements and expectations in cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
  • Provide leadership, training, and coordination to nurture a culture of reliability centered maintenance philosophy which permeates all staffing levels, and which enhances the entire maintenance program.
  • Develop successful applications of advanced predictive testing and inspection technologies to realize significant cost savings for planned maintenance activities.
  • Individuals must be able to work independently, collaboratively, and work within a team.
  • The position requires flexibility to work non-standard work hours and work weeks of more than 40 hours to meet business, customer, and contractual requirements.
  • Analyzes and provides recommendations on issues dealing with disciplines such as military command control and communications, electronic warfare, weapon systems, contingency operations, Military Tactics Techniques and Procedures (MTTP), force planning, and training exercises.
  • Coordinates with user community representatives throughout all phases of development concerning requirements definition, clarification, prioritization, and alternatives.
  • Analyzes the conduct and results of operational user training, military maneuvers or simulated wartime operations undertaken to maintain the capabilities of a force.
  • Compares, analyzes and evaluates the relative merits of program designs and alternatives.
  • Applies emerging doctrine and tactics, whether detailed in formal doctrinal changes or emanating from Advanced Warfighting Experiments (AWEs), Advanced Technology Demonstrations (ATDs), or Force XXI activities to system design and development.
  • Assesses the impact of programmatic and technical options on stated user requirements and doctrine.
  • Prepares reports and briefs summarizing support requirements, deficiencies, and investments for various programs and systems.
