Significance is growing and is seeking a Navy Technical Writer Senior Consultant to join our team. This is an onsite position, located in Falls Church, VA and requires an Active Secret Clearance. The Senior Technical Writer/ Senior Process & Strategy Consultant serves as a critical lead for process optimization and organizational clarity within a high-visibility Navy account. This role is not merely about writing; it is about process forensic science and enterprise-level alignment. You will work in direct collaboration with both the US Government and our Integrated Risk Management (IRM) Team to deconstruct complex, "tribal knowledge" workflows and reconstruct them into standardized, audit-ready documentation. The candidate will be the primary driver for cross-command collaboration, facilitating deep-dive stakeholder interviews and walkthroughs across various Navy functional areas. Your mission is to transform abstract, siloed operations into a cohesive library of process documentation, desk guides, and training visuals that enable mission readiness and long-term sustainability for the Command.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Stakeholder Interviewing: Proven ability to lead "discovery" sessions, extracting technical details from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and leadership.
  • Technical Writing: Expertise in drafting process narratives that are concise, unambiguous, and formatted for high-level military or government command consumption.
  • Process Mapping: Advanced capability in visualizing complex workflows into logical, easy-to-follow diagrams.
  • Gap Analysis: Skill in auditing "As-Is" processes against "To-Be" requirements to identify operational risks or inefficiencies.
  • Curriculum Development: Ability to translate technical process documentation into digestible training materials, one-pagers, and quick-reference desk guides.
  • MS Visio (Expert): Must be able to create layered, professional-grade flowcharts and architectural diagrams
  • MS Office Suite (Power User) to include Advanced Word (styles, templates, and version control), PowerPoint (for executive briefings and trainings), and Excel/Project (for tracking process inventories and project planning)
  • Adobe Pro: proficiency in creating searchable, professional PDF documentation packages
  • Collaboration Tools: Experience using SharePoint or similar environments for document versioning and collaborative drafting

  • Audit Readiness: Familiarity with federal or DoD audit standards to ensure documentation meets compliance benchmarks.
