One Safe Place Macon, an initiative of Crisis Line & Safe House of Central Georgia, seeks a Navigator. One Safe Place Macon Family Justice Center (FJC) is a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary, co-located service center that provides services to victims of interpersonal violence, including domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder or dependent adult abuse, and human trafficking, all under one roof. Both public and private partner agencies assign staff on a full-time or part-time basis to provide services from one location. The core concept is to provide one place where victims can receive services, such as talking to an advocate, planning for safety, interviewing with a police officer, meeting with a prosecutor, receiving medical assistance, receiving information on shelter, and getting help with transportation. FJCs focus on reducing the number of times victims tell their story, the number of places victims must go for help, and aim to increase access to services and support for victims and their children. This position is funded by Byrne Discretionary funds through the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) of the Department of Justice (DOJ). The Navigator serves as the initial representative and point of contact for clients seeking services. The goal of this position is to navigate clients through the various social and justice systems necessary to move from victim to survivor. The qualified candidate is required to have a dedication to working with this target population and have excellent trauma-informed advocacy skills. The Navigator will ensure that clients are assisted in completing all necessary documents and understand the contents of those documents before signing. The Navigator will also make certain that clients understand all available services and will coordinate the delivery of those services with partners.
