Requirements

  • Must have an active/current DoD Secret clearance, be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • A minimum of 6+ years of experience managing multiple Software Configuration Management (SCM) teams across various platforms is required.
  • Proven management experience in determining the readiness of products for release and effectively managing release communications with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering, scope definition, and environment provisioning, particularly in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Hands-on experience with CM-related tools is essential, including JIRA, DOORS, and Confluence.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field is strongly preferred or at least 6+ years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the Department of Defense, particularly with NAVAIR processes and standards, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all software configuration and release management activities for the Software Support Activity (SSA).
  • Manage multiple SCM teams, ensuring the integrity, control, and traceability of all software assets—including documents, code, and baselines—throughout their lifecycle.
  • Act as the central point of contact between management, vendors, development teams, and other stakeholders to coordinate and execute a compliant and efficient release process.
  • Define, implement, and enhance the Release Management process and associated artifacts.
  • Manage and coordinate release deployments, including facilitating post-deployment validation and monitoring for successful implementation.
  • Proactively manage and control all changes to software documents and versions, creating and maintaining software baselines for all products.
  • Act as the primary liaison between all internal and external stakeholders for release-related matters, providing guidance and resolving issues.
  • Collaborate with management and vendors to gather input for process enhancements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to track and document all changes across different software items.
  • Ensure all software configuration management activities are compliant with vendor Software Development Plans (SDP) and NAVAIR Software Engineering department Standard Work Packages (SWPs).
  • Monitor Quality Assurance (QA) testing progress to confirm that all releases meet documented quality standards.
  • Support the Change Control Board (CCB) and Release Readiness meetings as outlined in the Configuration Management Plan.
  • Manage, build, configure, and maintain all components of the DevOps environment in the cloud.
  • Work with project functional teams to integrate their inputs into the system build baseline.
  • Maintain all required data in an organized and accessible manner for authorized personnel.
