Requirements

  • 48 mos. trg. or 48 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty (Coastal Management, Biology, Hydrology, Environmental Science, &/or Geology/Oceanography)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Undergraduate major core program AND 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty (Coastal Management, Biology, Hydrology, Environmental Science, &/or Geology/Oceanography)
  • Completion of graduate major core program AND 12 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty (Coastal Management, Biology, Hydrology, Environmental Science, &/or Geology/Oceanography)

Responsibilities

  • Assist administrator with coordination & implementation of coastal management projects funded through federal, state, & local sources
  • Oversee special Lake Erie related programs & projects (e.g., identify project requirements, identify & manage budget & time frame requirements, evaluate whether project deliverables are satisfactory, negotiate with project partners as assigned)
  • Review regular project progress reports, manage requests for proposals & assist in office budget planning
  • Review grant applications & provide feedback
  • Assist administrator with implementation of the Ohio Coastal Nonpoint Pollution Control Program (CNPCP)
  • Prepare & present information on coastal issues to local, state & national organizations & public
  • Assist administrator in meetings with other departmental divisions & outside agencies to coordinate & inform about projects
  • Participate in outreach & technical assistance events

Benefits

  • Starting hourly pay of $32.35/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service, with an end salary of $46.09/hr
  • Cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied
  • Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service
