Natural Health & Supplement Specialist
About The Position
Nuts 'n Berries is seeking an experienced Natural Health & Supplement Specialist to join their small team in Brookhaven. This is not an entry-level position. The role involves assisting customers with natural health and supplement inquiries, developing deep product knowledge, building customer relationships, and contributing to the overall operation of the store. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in natural health, supplements, or wellness products, coupled with excellent customer service skills and a proactive approach to retail operations. The position requires availability on weekends and offers a flexible schedule of 25-30 hours per week.
Requirements
- 3+ years of customer-facing professional experience.
- Experience in natural-food or supplement stores, vitamin and supplement retail, health and wellness businesses, functional or integrative wellness environments, nutrition or health coaching, specialty grocery, fitness and wellness, CBD/hemp or other education-driven specialty retail, or specialty retail involving significant product knowledge and customer education.
- Prior supplement or natural-health experience is strongly preferred.
- If professional background is in an adjacent field, must have meaningful personal or professional knowledge of supplements, nutrition, or natural health.
- Ability to remain calm in a busy retail environment with multiple simultaneous demands.
- Proactive in identifying and addressing tasks without direct supervision.
- Strong prioritization skills.
- Ability to ask for clarification when priorities conflict.
- Problem-solving orientation.
- Accountability for mistakes and commitment to correction.

Responsibilities
- Help customers solve problems by listening, asking thoughtful questions, and using product knowledge to guide their choices.
- Develop and maintain deep product knowledge on supplements, foods, herbs, ingredients, and new products, sharing this knowledge with customers and coworkers.
- Build strong customer relationships by getting to know regulars and becoming a trusted resource.
- Sell through service by providing excellent recommendations and fostering genuine relationships.
- Contribute to the daily operations of the store, including running the register, receiving deliveries, stocking products, merchandising, answering phones, cleaning, organizing, and checking product dates.
- Identify and communicate operational issues such as out-of-stocks, customer requests, and merchandising opportunities.
- Collaborate with the team by assisting coworkers when needed, regardless of assigned duties.
