About The Position

Centuri is seeking a Gas Utility Laborer to support natural gas utility construction work. The role includes one to four weeks of paid training, followed by hands-on field experience working under an experienced Foreman and alongside Equipment Operators and Pipe Fitters. The position offers opportunities to develop skills in areas such as excavating, trenching, and shoring, and may qualify the employee for additional paid training after as little as six months. Pay starts at $22.00; offers may vary based on responsibilities, experience, education, training, skills, and geographic location.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong desire to learn a new trade.
• Fluency in English, as worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English.
• Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable-suspicion drug screens.
• Provide valid U.S. work authorization documents for E-Verify.
• Satisfactory pre-employment background check results.
• Complete a pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test and hold or obtain a DOT medical card.
• Join and maintain Union membership.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools to dig around existing utility structures and prevent damage.
• Load and unload equipment and materials.
• Keep the worksite clean, organized, and free from unnecessary hazards.
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain all industry-required Operator Qualifications.
• Perform other tasks as requested by leadership.
