About The Position

The National Small Business New Initiatives Lead is a senior program leader responsible for designing, executing, and delivering complex, large‑scale, cross‑functional initiatives that advance the strategic priorities of the National Small Business organization. This role serves as the primary lead for new strategic projects, managing multi‑quarter programs that require close coordination across functions, regions, and stakeholder groups to ensure successful outcomes and alignment with organizational objectives. In this role, the leader oversees the full initiative lifecycle, from concept development and detailed planning through execution, deployment, and post‑implementation evaluation. The position partners closely with executive sponsors, project managers, and cross‑functional teams to define objectives, scope, governance, and resourcing, while developing and maintaining key project artifacts such as business cases, project plans, schedules, risk assessments, and stakeholder communications. The role acts as the central point of accountability for progress tracking, risk mitigation, and change management; drives adoption and business readiness through collaboration with change and communications partners; and applies project management expertise to improve processes and implement scalable, sustainable solutions. The National Small Business New Initiatives Lead delivers clear, concise, executive‑ready communications and fosters a collaborative environment that promotes accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 10 years experience with tools and techniques for planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling IT projects.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in project/program management of large-scale, cross-functional initiatives
  • Demonstrated expertise in project planning, process mapping, project control, and reporting tools
