Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! - As a senior member of a small, highly skilled team of security professionals, the Blue Origin National Security (BNS) Senior Manager will provide strategic leadership across security operations for multiple government programs. This role has direct responsibility for leading security personnel, including Contractor Special Access Program Security Officers (CSSOs), and for driving consistent, high-standard execution of security requirements across the portfolio. The BNS Senior Manager serves as a principal subject matter expert on DoD Manual 5205.07 and related directives, ensuring robust protection of sensitive government programs and uniform implementation of security policies and procedures. This role is accountable for program-level planning and oversight of security activities, ensuring that all security deliverables, milestones, and compliance obligations are met on time and to standard. The BNS Senior Manager partners closely with program leadership and government stakeholders to integrate security into program strategy and execution, balancing mission needs with regulatory and contractual requirements. This position reports directly to the Government Security Director.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret security clearance and current SCI access.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience supporting government security programs.
  • Experience supporting security requirements governed by DoD Manual 5205.07.
  • Knowledge of federal security regulations including 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) and ICDs.
  • Experience with classified programs, secure facilities, or sensitive operations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office software.
  • Extensive experience as CSSO for government programs and overall security knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ICD 705 secure facility requirements.
  • Experience supporting space or launch programs.
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., Security+, ISP, CISSP).
  • Personnel Security Manager (PSM) training/certification.
  • ISSM/ISSO duties experience and cybersecurity practices.
  • COMSEC account manager certification or experience.
  • National Classification Management Society (NCMS) SPED certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on security activities governed by DoD Manual 5205.07.
  • Project manage security activities within BNS, ensuring deliverables and compliance milestones are achieved.
  • Provide leadership and coordination across security personnel supporting classified government programs.
  • Ensure program security aligns with federal regulations including 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) and relevant ICDs.
  • Act as the primary interface with government security representatives.
  • Coordinate personnel security, classified material control, visitor control, and secure facility operations.
  • Guide program teams on security policies, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Support internal security reviews, audits, and self-assessments, ensuring resolution of findings.
  • Manage information management system records and maintenance.
  • Conduct security awareness, training, and education.
  • Oversee self-inspection and government inspections, corrective actions, and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement processes, documentation, and security contracts management.
  • Provide physical security oversight and planning.
  • Manage proposals and support security-related aspects.
