About The Position

Genetec is a global technology company with over 25 years of experience in the physical security industry. The company develops solutions that enhance security, intelligence, and operations for various organizations. This role is for a National Sales Director, Canada, responsible for leading the growth of Genetec's business across the country. The position reports to the Vice-President, Sales North America and involves executing the Canadian sales strategy, driving revenue growth, and managing a sales team. The director will build relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders, identify new business opportunities, and expand market presence. Collaboration with North American teams is key to aligning regional priorities with corporate objectives, fostering a culture of growth and excellence, and leading change initiatives for sustainable growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 10+ years of sales experience in the technology, software, SaaS, or physical security industry
  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue growth and exceeding sales targets
  • Experience developing and executing sales strategies and go-to-market plans
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • Experience building relationships with executive-level customers, partners, and key stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Located in a major metropolitan area in Canada, with a preference for Toronto or Montreal
  • Fluent in English; French is an important asset
  • Valid passport and driver's license, with the ability to travel up to 75%
  • Strong understanding of IP-based technologies, networking, and enterprise IT environments
  • Previous experience with cloud and SaaS solutions
  • Experience supporting solution roll-outs, implementations, and related change management initiatives
  • Ability to conceive, position, and support complex enterprise solutions and large-scale system deployments
  • Strong understanding of system integrations, solution architectures, and technology ecosystems
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the national sales strategy to drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and long-term business success across Canada.
  • Translate strategy into clear priorities for the Canadian sales organization.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales organization, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, trust and continuous improvement while supporting talent development and succession planning.
  • Own the achievement of annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue targets across all product lines, including strategic growth initiatives such as SaaS solutions.
  • Establish performance objectives, monitor sales effectiveness, and drive accountability for pipeline development, forecasting accuracy, and business outcomes.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies that align with corporate objectives and address evolving customer, partner, and market needs.
  • Identify new business opportunities, emerging markets, and growth strategies to strengthen Genetec's position across Canada.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with customers, channel partners, consultants, technology partners, industry associations, and key stakeholders to support business growth and strategic opportunities.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product Management, Customer Experience, and other cross-functional teams to maximize business results, support market initiatives, and influence product strategy through customer and market insights.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, industry developments, and customer requirements to inform strategic decision-making and competitive positioning.
  • Ensure effective execution of channel programs, partner engagement strategies, project registration processes, and sales best practices.
  • Lead forecasting, business planning, budgeting, territory design, and resource allocation activities, providing regular business updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Ensure effective use of CRM and sales tools to maintain operational excellence, data integrity, and actionable business insights.
  • Champion alignment between Canadian market priorities and corporate objectives while maintaining strong collaboration with North American leadership and corporate teams.
  • Approve strategic account plans, pricing decisions, and commercial initiatives in support of company objectives and growth targets.
  • Promote continuous improvement and champion sustainable growth and change.
  • Continue to expand a culture of performance and collaboration.
