About The Position

The UHNW Advice & Credit Solutions Group is focused on helping to originate, create and implement complex structured financial solutions providing superior risk adjusted after-tax rewards for Ultra High Net Worth and High Net Worth individuals, families, and business leaders. The department brings value in facilitating estate planning, business succession, divestitures, wealth transfers, private equity restructuring and capital reorganizations. The group's mandate is national in scope. The target market includes UHNW and HNW individuals and their families, successful business entrepreneurs and professionals. The group has direct accountability and responsibility to assist and educate Private Banking managers and their teams across the country in credit structures. The National Manager, Credit Solutions position reports to the National Director, Credit & Business Development. The position works in a team environment managing an assigned portfolio of accounts, supported by a Manager, Credit Solutions and a Client Service Associate. The position is responsible for assessing, structuring and underwriting new business, as well as managing the credit renewal process within the team and delivering legendary client experience. The position is the primary credit relationship contact, in which he/she is obliged to liaison with partners to respond and/or refer client requests/questions to the appropriate person. The position will collaborate in a deal team environment with UHNW, Wealth and Senior Private Banking Advisors. The position is responsible for the productivity of the team, ensuring there is a positive flow of workload, developmental capability and client experience.

Requirements

  • Commercial Credit Risk Management (“CCRM”) procedures and principles

  • Comprehensive knowledge of bank administrative systems
  • Working knowledge and experience involving Credit Analysis
  • Working knowledge and experience involving Financial Modeling
  • Working knowledge and experience involving Intermediate accounting and finance.
  • Working knowledge and experience involving Risk management theory and practices.
  • Working knowledge and experience involving Financial Planning
  • Working knowledge and experience involving Investment and treasury products
  • Working knowledge and experience involving Operational process expertise
  • Working knowledge and experience involving Security documentation.
  • Post-Secondary degree
  • CSC and/or Financial Planning designation (CFP/PFP)

Responsibilities

  • Maximize profitability based on volume growth, loan fees, pricing which includes the principles of Business Banking’s RAROC Model, and referrals to other Wealth Management partners across TD, through high quality client interactions on an existing book of business.
  • Focus on achieving and supporting the group's (UHNW/HNW) financial targets.
  • Contribute to developing solutions for new and existing clients based on in-depth understanding of client needs.
  • Partner with and support the Regional Director, UHNW, in fulfilling all business opportunities and objectives.
  • The National Manager actively contributes to the credit structuring process, and is responsible for fulfilling the underwriting, funding and compliance review of target credit deals over $1MM.
  • Credit applications for presentation to CRM include formal assessment of each deal, detailed supporting analysis, appropriate financial modeling and due diligence performed.
  • The position is responsible for managing an assigned portfolio within established standard guidelines, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all client and partner inquiries and interactions by the team.
  • Adherence to both professional practices and standards and TD Bank Group processes & controls.
  • Responsible for staying current and informed about all updated operational and credit risk guidelines.
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with Bank and industry codes of conduct and with securities laws and regulations.
  • Understand and apply bank/branch operating policies and procedures.
  • Act as liaison with outside counsel and advisors.
  • Lead and model exceptional service at every partner and client interaction.
  • Ensure partner and client requests are handled professionally and in a timely and efficient manner, bringing in senior management and other business partners when necessary.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the partner and client experience.
  • Contribute to the success of the business through proactive personal development activities (for self and development of team – Manager, Credit Solutions and Client Service Associate) and achieve knowledge, competency and accreditation requirements for the position by utilizing learning maps (internal Bank courses) and any external courses as required.
  • Act as a reference point in areas of expertise.
  • Contribute to a positive working environment.
