About The Position

Citibank, N.A. seeks a Credit Risk Group Manager for its Irving, Texas location. Duties include analyzing credit data and financial statements to determine risk, preparing credit reports for decision-making, and applying credit risk management standards. The role involves financial/credit analysis, transaction greenlighting, underwriting, first-line-of-defense credit approval, and managing credit monitoring. It requires an understanding of capital markets products and complex financing structures such as market-related products, leverage lending, Asset Basel Loan (ABL) products, and trade finance products. The manager will oversee a team of analysts supporting credit monitoring for Banking and International (B&I) clients under ICM, ensuring consistency in underwriting and credit/financial analysis. The position emphasizes adopting best practices in credit analysis, underwriting, and monitoring, including the end-to-end underwriting process from origination to senior approval forums. Responsibilities include ensuring Credit Approval Memo packages are complete and accurate, performing enterprise valuation analysis, reviewing financial data, target markets, risk acceptance criteria, projection modeling, stress testing, and other in-depth analysis by junior resources, while maintaining data accuracy and integrity. The role also involves analyzing forecasting models, debt rating models, ratings, and executing remedial management action plans. Facilitating relationships with clients, Banking and Risk teams, regulators, Internal Audit, Credit Risk Review (CRR), and other control functions is key. The position requires providing strategic insights and sensitivity to macro and regulatory issues, and their impact on Risk families, including operational and franchise risks. Discussing and addressing issues related to the allocation of risk assets and risk capital with banking and product organizations is also part of the role. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

Requirements

• Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and 3 years of experience as a Credit Risk Analyst, Credit Risk Management, Underwriter, Portfolio Manager or related position involving underwriting and credit risk management in the global financial services industry.
• Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in the stated fields and 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience underwriting and credit risk management in the global financial services industry.
• 3 years of experience must include: Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis; Financial modeling and valuation; Regulatory framework of corporate loans; Data accuracy and integrity assurance; Stakeholders and people management; 7-year model, discounted cash flow, weighted average cost of capital, peer comparable and trading comparable; Advanced Excel; and Data quality control management.
• Up to 5% international and domestic travel required

Responsibilities

• Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
• Prepare reports with credit information for use in decision-making.
• Apply credit risk management standards to provide financial/credit analysis, greenlight transactions, undertake underwriting, facilitate first-line-of-defense credit approval, and manage subsequent credit monitoring.
• Apply understanding of capital markets products and complex financing and product structures including market-related products, leverage lending loan products, Asset Basel Loan (ABL) products and trade finance products.
• Oversee a team of analysts in supporting credit monitoring of the portfolio of Banking and International (B&I) clients under ICM.
