About The Position

Under the direction of Assistant Director - Human Rights, Health and Safety and Education in the Communications, Education, and Human Rights Branch, works with the National and Regional Education Staff to accomplish the effective development and delivery of the Alliance Education Program and participates in the administration of the Education budgets.

Requirements

  • Experience working with online training platforms and educational technologies
  • A combination of education, training, and experience as an adult / popular educator and program administrator.
  • Knowledge of the labour movement, of trade union practices and organization, and of the social, political, economic, and equity issues that are of importance to the trade union movement.
  • Oral and written communications skills, including the ability to produce letters, reports, analyses, etc., within deadlines.
  • Strong education development skills (e.g. ability to assess learning needs, formulate objectives, develop innovative and participatory methodology, and write facilitators’ notes and participant handouts).
  • Strong facilitation and human relations skills (i.e. the ability to assess group process, to analyze individual behaviour and group dynamics, to synthesize group thoughts and opinions, to solve problems and build consensus, and to promote effective teamwork).
  • Ability to estimate costs, forecast expenditures and develop / monitor a program budget.
  • Ability to operate efficiently and effectively within a political environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to union and equity principles.
