About The Position

The National Business Administration Manager helps make this impact possible by leading a high-performing Business Administration team supporting Thrift Stores, Donor Welcome Centres, and Distribution & Recycling Centres. The role provides operational and strategic leadership, including developing administrative strategies, streamlining operations and managing costs, delivering exceptional service, and ensuring compliance across the organization. You will oversee a team of Business Administration Specialists and a Coordinator, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning, while partnering with cross-functional leaders to identify opportunities to enhance processes and operational efficiency at a national level. We are seeking a collaborative leader who will develop people, elevate processes, and provide effective operational support across a multi-site environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years leading business administration operations, including team supervision, multi-site coordination, and process management
  • Demonstrated experience optimizing administrative efficiency, managing expenses, procurement, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams to enhance workflows and operational practices
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and administrative best practices
  • Leadership, coaching, and team development skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and accountability
  • Strategic and operational mindset with strong organizational, planning, and project management abilities
  • Analytical, solution-oriented thinker with attention to detail and strong decision-making skills
  • Effective communication skills; able to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience driving process enhancements and implementing administrative best practices

  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, accounting software, or administrative tools is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide the Business Administration team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and exceptional service delivery
  • Supervise Business Administration Specialists and Coordinator, enabling performance, skill growth, and workload management
  • Act as the subject-matter leader and trusted advisor for business administration and accounting matters, providing guidance to other NRO departments to ensure alignment with organizational policies and standards
  • Foster knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and cross-team collaboration
  • Oversee national expense management and departmental expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies
  • Manage core administrative and accounting functions, including cash management, accounts payable, invoicing, deposits, budgeting, and year-end procedures
  • Develop and maintain procedural guides and operational standards to support consistent, efficient, and compliant operations
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance practices, and implement best practices
  • Partner with internal teams across the organization to optimize tools, workflows, and administrative practices
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external partners
  • Facilitate procurement and resource management processes to ensure efficiency and alignment with organizational policies
