About The Position

As a National Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth through the acquisition of new customers and the expansion of existing customer relationships across Teasdale’s portfolio of branded and private label products. This role will develop and execute customer strategies that accelerate revenue, distribution, and market share growth across retail, mass, and club. The successful candidate will identify, develop, and close new business opportunities while building strong strategic partnerships with key customers. You will lead customer negotiations, develop joint business plans, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver innovative solutions that create value for both customers and Teasdale. This role requires a highly motivated, entrepreneurial sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable navigating ambiguity, and has a proven track record of winning new business and delivering results. This is a full-time role with travel up to 50%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of successful sales experience within consumer packaged goods, food manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success in acquiring new customers and developing new business opportunities.
  • Proven track record of winning new business and converting opportunities from concept through commercialization.
  • Experience calling on major retail, mass, club, or foodservice customers.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management experience.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic account plans that deliver measurable growth.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience utilizing syndicated data, customer insights, and financial analysis to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with a high level of accountability, initiative, and follow-through.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizations and influence cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing brokers and distributor partners is preferred.
  • Experience in private-label shelf-stable foods, agricultural products, beans, pulses, or Hispanic foods is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic growth plan targeting new customers, categories, and channels.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities from prospecting through commercialization.
  • Create and execute customer-specific growth strategies across both branded and private label offerings.
  • Lead customer negotiations including pricing, contracts, promotional agreements, and annual business planning.
  • Develop and present compelling business cases that secure new distribution, category expansion, and long-term partnerships.
  • Build and strengthen executive-level relationships within key customer organizations.
  • Collaborate with Category Insights, Marketing, Product Development, Operations, Demand Planning, Procurement, and Finance teams to deliver customer solutions and drive profitable growth.
  • Leverage syndicated, customer, and market data to develop fact-based selling stories and strategic recommendations.
  • Identify and capitalize on market trends, category opportunities, pricing dynamics, and competitive activity.
  • Deliver annual revenue, volume, market share, and profitability targets.
  • Lead Joint Business Planning processes with key customers to identify growth opportunities and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure successful commercialization, forecasting, and execution of customer commitments.
  • Manage broker, distributor, and strategic partner relationships as required.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the retail landscape, customer strategies, and emerging market opportunities.
