About The Position

This position is hybrid, requiring 3 days a week in the Houston office and 2 days remote. The role is responsible for supporting Sales or Account Management personnel in the prospecting, acquiring, or renewing of business. Responsibilities include conducting research on inquiries, resolving issues by collaborating across divisions, communicating with brokers and clients, assisting in gathering information for proposals, maintaining databases, preparing reports, conducting analysis, and assisting or participating in enrollment sessions.

Requirements

  • Must have State General Agent Insurance License or obtain State General Agent Insurance License within 90 days of starting in the role
  • Bachelor Degree and 1 year of experience in health insurance/health care field in a service/sales/marketing position involving initiative and decision-making OR 3 years of experience in health insurance/health care field in a service/sales/marketing position involving initiative and decision-making
  • Organizational and project implementation skills, phone customer service skills, presentation skills
  • Verbal and written communications skills to interact to interact with internal and external contacts
  • PC proficiency to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint. and sales system
  • Willingness and ability for occasional travel

Responsibilities

  • Support Sales or Account Management personnel to assist in prospecting, acquiring or renewing business.
  • Research inquiries received from customers or company representatives.
  • Coordinate research through internal contacts.
  • Bring issues to Sales and Account Management personnel.
  • Respond directly to customer or company representative.
  • May coordinate meetings.
  • May conduct research for prospective business.
  • Gather data, create and/or maintain databases.
  • Participate in enrollments.
  • Prepare materials for enrollment sessions.
  • Prepare documentation for prospective or existing customers.
  • Review information received for completeness.
  • Develop relationships with customer representatives.
  • Research and prepare utilization reports.
  • Summarize and analyze results for Sales or Account staff.
  • Respond to questions from prospects regarding benefit information and available benefit options.
  • Obtain and maintain sales general agent license for applicable state of operations.
  • May include some travel.
