About The Position

The Natatorium Assistant Coach will coach or assist in running one or more groups for the club swim team. This role involves assisting the Head Coach and Head Age Group Coach in the day-to-day operations of the team, including developing seasonal plans, writing daily workouts, and providing on-deck coaching. The position requires maintaining current safety training and USA Swimming certifications, effective communication with athletes, parents, and staff, and attending all required meetings and swim meets.

Requirements

• Eighteen years or older
• Current USA Swimming (USAS) Coach Certified
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Mentally and physically fit
• Genuine enthusiasm for working with athletes of all ages (5-18)
• Capable of responding calmly in emergency situations
• Previous coaching and/or advanced swim lesson instruction experience
• Competitive swimming experience

Nice To Haves

• Previous competitive club / interscholastic / college swimming experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain current safety training and USA Swimming certifications.
• Attend all required meetings.
• Maintain accurate daily attendance rosters.
• Effective and professional communication with athletes, parents, and other USAS staff.
• Ability to write a seasonal plan for multiple training groups.
• Ability to write age and ability-specific daily workouts.
• Attend meets in which club swim team athletes are entered.
• Other duties as assigned to aid in the efficient and safe operation of the Frisco ISD Natatorium and Training Pool.
