The NAS-Advisory Engineer will demonstrate the use of independent judgment in performing calculations and/or designs and be able to present and justify analyses to regulatory, quality, and safety reviews. This individual will possess superior technical knowledge of nuclear and mechanical disciplines and the ability to work on or direct project teams with other engineers to evaluate conditions and develop analyses to evaluate plant performance, safety, and reliability. The individual must have the ability to interface and work with equipment vendors as needed. Experience in reviewing and checking analyses prepared by other engineers is required. Must be familiar with codes and standards applicable to the nuclear power industry as well as possess working knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations (including the NRC). Possesses exceptional oral and written communication skills. Routinely develops and delivers training in areas of expertise. Routinely interacts with organization leaders, clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others. Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials, or other organizations and companies. Demonstrates skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues. Excellent client interface/communication skills and understanding of the roles of other disciplines, as well as ability to coordinate and interface with other disciplines, are a must. A successful candidate must have experience presenting projects to both technical and business audiences.
