About The Position

A private family near Lake Claire in Atlanta is seeking an experienced, patient, play-oriented nanny for two young boys, ages 4 and almost 2. This permanent, full-time position typically runs Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with one day ending earlier for school pickup. Occasional weekend, overnight, or travel coverage may arise roughly once a year but is not required. Compensation is up to $40 per hour depending on experience, with an advertised annual range of $60,000–$70,000+/-. The older child is a highly verbal, academically gifted Level 2 autistic boy who enjoys jokes and rhymes and benefits from routine, advance notice of transitions, and humor. He attends Montessori school for half days three mornings per week, and the nanny handles school pickup. The family prefers a play-oriented caregiver who can read his body language, adjust support to his needs, use his personal “magic number” to make transitions and clean-up fun, support him through therapy-related setbacks, and help with at-home physical therapy exercises. A DIR/Floor time or similar play-therapy background is preferred over an ABA approach. The younger child is an affectionate, independent toddler who enjoys cuddles, vehicles, books, animals, and pretend play. He naps daily at about 2:00 PM for approximately two hours. The nanny should use one-on-one time to encourage early skills such as numbers and colors and navigate sibling dynamics thoughtfully. The family seeks an affectionate, calm, positive, encouraging, observant, professional, punctual, reliable, and mature caregiver who communicates well and is fully present with the children; phone use while working is not allowed. The household has two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels requiring light care, and the role includes light housekeeping related to the children's routines. Confident swimming ability is required because pool time is a regular part of the boys’ routine.
