Part Time Nanny – Cerritos, CA
About The Position
A welcoming family in Cerritos, California, is seeking a part-time nanny to care for their 1-year-old child. The nanny will provide attentive, age-appropriate care, support daily routines and developmental milestones, and create a warm, engaging environment in the family’s home. The family is temporarily living in Cerritos and plans to move to a nearby city, ideally within 5 miles, in the coming months; willingness to work at the new location is appreciated. The schedule is Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., for 16 hours per week. The schedule may shift to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday depending on the candidate’s availability and the family’s needs. The home has one mixed-breed dog and is smoke-free. Pay is $20–$25 per hour, commensurate with experience. Candidates will be subject to a background check and must provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Requirements
- Proven experience in professional childcare or nanny roles with toddlers.
- Personal vehicle for reliable transportation to and from the job; driving on the job is not required.
- Willingness to work initially in Cerritos and at the family’s nearby new location after its upcoming move is appreciated.
Nice To Haves
- Background or strong personal interest in early childhood education, crafts, music, and interactive play.
- Prior experience caring for 1-year-old children.
- CPR/first aid certification.
- Comfort working in a home with a dog.
Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the child, and assist with feeding.
- Lead interactive arts and crafts, music, reading, and educational activities suited to the child’s developmental milestones.
- Assist with diapering and potty-training routines.
- Provide general toddler supervision, engagement, and gentle care.
