About The Position
A family in Piedmont, CA is seeking a reliable, attentive caregiver and household helper for their 5-year-old daughter. The role involves assisting with morning routines, school drop-offs and pickups, and helping keep the child's space organized. The parents work in an office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, requiring the caregiver to manage the morning routine independently. The family prepares outfits, lunches, and snacks in advance to facilitate a smooth routine. The family provides a travel car seat for the caregiver’s vehicle. The home is a smoke-free environment and includes a small (10 lb) senior chihuahua that remains in a private room.
Requirements
- Experience caring for preschool or kindergarten-aged children.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and a personal vehicle capable of fitting a travel car seat.
- Comfortable providing personal hygiene assistance.
- Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Assist the child with her morning routine, including getting dressed, eating breakfast, and preparing for the day.
- Safely drive the child to school in Oakland for morning drop-off.
- Return to the home after drop-off to tidy the child's bedroom, sort her laundry, and organize schoolwork for the next day.
- Pick up the child from school on Wednesdays and provide engaging afternoon care (with potential to transport her to an extracurricular Spanish class).
- Assist with personal hygiene, including bathroom wiping care.
