About The Position

A family in Reston, VA is seeking an experienced and compassionate Nanny/Household Assistant to care for their almost 8-year-old son. The family is looking for a dependable and nurturing individual to assist with daily care and household support. The position is part-time, Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM, totaling 22.5 hours per week. The home is smoke-free and the family has a friendly, hypoallergenic dog.

Requirements

• 3+ years of prior experience working with children or in Household Management.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications required (or willing to complete).
• Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, registration, and proof of insurance required.
• Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.
• All candidates will be subject to a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, engaging care for the child.
• Handle daily needs including possible homework help, light food prep and providing snacks and meals.
• Light housekeeping related to the child's care throughout the day.
• Transporting child home from school, and to and from activities and appointments as needed.
• When not caregiving, responsible for running errands for the family, putting away laundry once delivered back home, coordinating home maintenance and being present for providers to complete services.
