About The Position

The Piano Accompanist provides musical accompaniment for rehearsals, concerts, performances, and other scheduled musical activities. The role collaborates with conductors, vocalists, instrumentalists, music directors, and other participants to support musical excellence. The accompanist prepares assigned selections in advance, follows conductors’ direction while maintaining musical continuity, and supports singers and instrumentalists with accurate pitch, rhythm, and phrasing. The position performs a variety of musical styles and genres appropriate to the organization’s needs and may participate in additional rehearsals, performances, or special events as scheduled. The position is part-time adjunct faculty for a fixed term, with compensation of $25.00 per hour and up to 29 hours per week.

Requirements

• Previous experience accompanying choral ensembles.
• Strong sight-reading skills.
• Ability to perform a variety of musical styles.
• Proficiency in playing open-score vocal parts.

• Bachelor's degree in music preferred.
