About The Position

Bach To Rock, America’s Music School for students of all ages, is seeking a part-time Music Teacher at its West Seattle location. Multiple positions are available for a range of instruments, including guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keys, brass, and woodwind. Teachers provide music and performance lessons to students of all ages using Bach to Rock curriculum and cover song arrangements. The curriculum teaches theory and technique through music students know and enjoy, helping them develop as performers, recording artists, and composers. The role offers a flexible part-time schedule in a fun environment with other musicians. Bach to Rock handles marketing, scheduling, booking, billing, and other business aspects of lessons and group classes so teachers can focus on instruction. Hourly pay is based on education, experience, expertise, and availability. Eligible regular employees are offered a 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match. Requirements

Demonstrate an understanding of music concepts and communicate those concepts effectively to students.
Have an advanced understanding of music theory and technique relevant to the primary instrument.
Have effective time management and organizational skills to keep students on task during lessons.
Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities.
Have experience performing, either solo or in a group.
Have experience working with youth and/or beginning musicians.
Be able to interact effectively with children and adults.
Be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

Teach private and semi-private lessons using Bach to Rock curriculum and cover song arrangements.
Create an encouraging, fun, and focused lesson atmosphere.
Assess students’ readiness to join a band or ensemble.
Assist at school events.
Repair equipment as needed and able.
