About The Position

Music and Performing Arts Teachers at Chesterbrook Academy enrich students’ academic journeys by fostering a love of music and the performing arts. Working with students from Pre-K through 8th grade, the teacher creates and implements an arts curriculum that includes vocal and instrumental music, movement, drama, and performance. The program emphasizes creativity, confidence, collaboration, and cultural appreciation.

The teacher delivers lessons tailored to students’ developmental stages, organizes performances and community events, collaborates with teachers across grade levels, builds relationships with students and families, and maintains a safe, inclusive classroom environment supportive of artistic expression.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Performing Arts, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience teaching music and/or theater in a PK–5 school setting.
• Ability to direct musical ensembles, choirs, or theatrical productions.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for working with young learners.
• Ability to successfully pass a state and federal background check.

• Master’s degree.

Responsibilities
