About The Position

As a Music Teacher at Guitar Center, you will teach music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help increase and retain student enrollment while supporting students’ growth, development, and enjoyment of playing music. The role also involves fostering a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and providing an excellent customer experience. You will work with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, assist with customer service as needed, and communicate regularly with students and families about progress and goals. Pay is listed as $16.00–$17.00 per hour for non-teaching work and up to $26.80 per hour for teaching work, depending on background and experience. Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area the candidate will teach.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a positive experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, build trusting relationships, and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
Communicate each student’s progress to the student and/or their parents.
Share students’ and/or parents’ goals and progress frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
