About The Position
The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role focuses on growing student enrollment and helping each student continue to develop and enjoy playing music, while supporting a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. Teachers partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, provide a positive customer experience, and communicate regularly with students and families about progress and goals. The listed pay is $15.00–$17.05 per hour at the non-teaching rate and up to $23.60 per hour at the total teaching rate, depending on background and experience; actual compensation may vary.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area they will teach.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed and build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child.
- Share student goals and progress regularly with students and/or their parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
