About The Position

The Music Teacher (K-12) position is responsible for planning, organizing, and presenting instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills contributing to their cognitive, physical, and social/emotional development in the 21st century. This role requires the ability to differentiate instruction, coordinate and improve instruction, analyze situations, make data-driven decisions, and utilize various technologies and classroom tools. The teacher must effectively manage instructional time and student behavior, motivate students, consult with stakeholders, and monitor student performance. Additional duties may include coordinating Teacher Assistants and performing other related work as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an approved education program in subject area
  • NC Teaching License or qualifications to obtain a NC Teaching License
  • Strong background in North Carolina Standard Course of Study/Common Core and Essential Standards

Nice To Haves

  • Hold a current North Carolina Professional Educators license for his/her area of assignment
  • Hold or be eligible to hold a North Carolina Professional Educators license in Music Education (K-12) with a concentration in Band/Choral Music
