About The Position

Bach To Rock is seeking a part-time Music Teacher to provide private and semi-private music and performance lessons to students of all ages. Teachers use the Bach to Rock curriculum, theory and technique instruction, and cover-song arrangements to provide an inspiring, well-balanced music education. The role helps students develop as musicians who enjoy performing, recording in the studio, and composing original music. The position offers a flexible part-time schedule in a fun environment with other musicians. Bach to Rock handles marketing, scheduling, booking, billing, and other business aspects of lessons and group classes so teachers can focus on instruction. The hourly rate is based on education, experience, expertise, and availability.

Requirements

Demonstrate an understanding of music concepts and communicate them effectively to students.
Have an advanced understanding of music theory and technique relevant to the primary instrument.
Have effective time-management and organizational skills to keep students on task during lessons.
Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities.
Be an experienced performer, either solo or in a group.
Have experience working with youth and/or beginning musicians.
Be able to interact effectively with children and adults.
Pass a background check.

Responsibilities

Teach private and semi-private lessons using Bach to Rock curriculum and cover-song arrangements.
Create an encouraging, fun, and focused lesson atmosphere.
Assess students’ readiness to join a band or ensemble.
Assist at school events.
Repair equipment as needed and able.
